In addition to the poorly designed public survey the government issued earlier this month, which didn’t even ask the simple question of whether the shale gas moratorium should be maintained, and had no controls to discourage multiple submissions, or even ensure  respondents were New Brunswick residents, a ‘not well advertised’ public engagement session in Sussex is scheduled for November 3rd. No one knew about it until it appeared on Facebook. Until now, the public has been essentially excluded from expressing its views or getting questions answered.

Public information meeting on shale gas in Sussex:
Sussex Lions Club, 58 Willow Court on November 3 from 6 to 8 pm

You are asked to register on the government’s information page: https://naturalgasdialogue.ca/
It says the meeting is for residents of Sussex and surrounding areas – which they, unfortunately, don’t define, and we are unsure if registration is a requirement.

So, if you are within driving distance and can attend, we encourage you to do so.  The format is standard: “Visit Information tables, talk with subject matter experts, and stay for a Q&A session.”   Learn what you can.  The Q&A session is the best place to do that, and also make your voice and concerns heard. People will have many of their own questions, but we’ve provided a short list of important questions (with context) that you can use for reference or publicly asking at the event.  The answers will be important.

We thank everyone who can attend and bring their questions.
